Roman Reigns receives heavy backlash after WWE champ denounces Randy Orton’s return: “Hope he loses those titles

The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, made his first appearance of 2024 in the New Year’s Revolution of Smackdown along with The Bloodline and responded to the challenge issued by The Rock on the Day 1 episode of Monday Night RAW.

Reigns came to ring at the end of the show to witness the main event of the show. Recently, on social media, Reigns has started receiving heavy backlash and hate comments from WWE fans after he went against the Viper, Randy Orton, in the main event of Smackdown.

Roman Reigns takes sly dig at Randy Orton

On the latest episode of Smackdown, the main event featured a Triple Threat match between Randy Orton, LA Knight and AJ styles for the number one contender to challenge Roman Reigns for the title. Reigns, along with his brother Solo Sikoa, came to the ring and involved in a brawl against LA Knight. After this, Reigns targeted Orton and hit him with a superman punch.

After attacking Orton, Reigns angrily said, “We gave you paid vacation. I’m tryna get you back with your family, Uce, and what happened, huh? You came back here looking for more accolades and you found yourself on your a**, son”.

In 2022, Randy Orton faced a severe neck injury after being attacked by Reigns and The Bloodline on SmackDown during a match. The Usos brutally attacked Orton and left him sidelined for 18 months.

Orton made a shocking return at Survivor Series WarGames in November 2023 and confronted Reigns on the next Smackdown episode. Orton challenged Reigns for a title match at the Royal Rumble, but later on, LA Knight and AJ styles were added to the match.

Roman is now set to defend his title at the Royal Rumble in a fatal four way match against LA Knight, AJ Styles and Randy Orton which was announced by the general manager of Smackdown, Nick Aldis, as a result of his actions on last week’s Smackdown.

Fans mock Roman Reigns for insulting Randy Orton

Roman Reigns actions against Randy Orton have started receiving more hatred from WWE fans. Reigns was clearly frustrated to see Orton in the ring, after The Bloodline attacked Orton last year. He was yelling at Orton, exchanging some heated words.

Recently, on social media, his words against Orton went viral, and fans charged against the Head of the Table, mentioning him as a bully. Due to the fact that Reigns rarely loses cleanly and consistently receives more attention than other performers, fans have accused WWE of overprotecting him.

Fans also said the WWE Universe doesn’t care if Reigns loses his title in the Royal Rumble. Some fans also pointed out that Roman had his first pay-per-view match in WWE against Orton at SummerSlam 2014, and now, after ten years, Orton is a full-time guy and Reigns has become a part-time guy.

Even with all this hatred, Reigns still remains the Head Of the Table, with his dominating reign as the WWE Undisputed Champion lasting an impressive 1300 days.
