Roman Reigns is one of the leading superstars of the present roster of WWE. He is the current WWE Universal champion and has been the reigning champion for more than three years now. However, recently an old interview clip of him has surfaced on the internet.
In that clip, The Head of the Table shared his opinion about former AEW superstar CM Punk and he also discussed whether he will work with CM Punk in WWE.
Roman Reigns on CM Punk’s return to WWE
During an interview on “Complex’s Load Management” podcast in 2020, Roman Reigns aka The Head of the Table was asked if he would be open to working with CM Punk if he returns to WWE. But Roman’s response made it pretty clear that he doesn’t like The Second City Saints. But the Tribal Chief said that he would work with Punk only if the fans wanted and he also mentioned that he would only do it for the business.

“I don’t like the guy, I don’t know many people who do. But I’m willing to put business first and make really good content if that’s the case. He’d probably have to be slapped around a few times to get his mind right, but if it’s willing, and the fans and the audience [are] going to like it and be into it, then most likely I’m going to be into it.” said Roman Reigns.
Is Roman Reigns potentially going to face CM Punk in WWE?
The former AEW World Champion CM has teased his WWE return while doing his commentary gig for CFFC. After the AEW All In Premium Live Event, CM Punk was fired from the promotion by the CEO Tony Khan due to a backstage brawl.
A few days ago Punk was asked if he had free time, to which he replied, “Yeah I’ve got time on my hands for the next two months.” Surprisingly, the WWE Survivor Series 2023 event is two months away. So, there is a high chance of The Second City Saint making a return to the Stamford-based promotion.
If we look into the previous Big Star return records there is a high chance to guess his next opponent. One name that comes first is the name of Roman Reigns. The Head of the Table was in the ring when John Cena returned at Money in the Bank 2021. He also fought Brock Lesnar when Brock returned at SummerSlam 2021. Therefore, Roman Reigns has a very high chance to be CM Punk’s opponent if he returns to WWE.
