Roman Reigns vs The Rock: WWE HOFer explains why it must happen at WrestleMania 40

There was talk of a potential matchup between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Bloodline member Roman Reigns a few months after Johnson’s return to WWE. When Triple H announced that The Rock, aka The People’s Champion, would be returning to WWE for the first day of Raw, many were taken aback.

During his unexpected visit, The Rock overcame Jinder Mahal and hinted at a possible matchup with Roman Reigns in that promotional video. There has been no official word on it, but one former Hall of Famer thinks the Big Dog and the Brahma Bull should have their unforgettable confrontation at WrestleMania 40.

Booker T advocates for The Rock vs Roman Reigns to happen at WrestleMania 40

On Monday night, The Rock shocked the wrestling world by making an unexpected visit. An idea that has been simmering since the 2015 Royal Rumble was revived when the People’s Champion dropped hints about a highly anticipated matchup with Roman Reigns.

With these two legendary Samoan wrestlers locking horns, this dream match has all the makings of WrestleMania’s most epic main event, ever. During the program, the Brahma Bull used the term “Head of the Table” to hint at a possible confrontation between him and Reigns.

According to Booker T, who shared his opinion on the possible battle, the present hype makes this the ideal moment for this great contest. Since Cody Rhodes and The Rock were previously rumored to fight Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, the wrestling fandom is understandably excited about this upcoming encounter.

In a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T finally spoke out about the subject, highlighting WWE’s chance to cash in on the buzz. T said, “It’s got a buzz. Everybody is talking about it. I think that’s the modus operandi. I think that’s what that is, more than anything. For me, you don’t want to let that thing simmer too long.”

Massive challenge awaits Roman Reigns on the road to WrestleMania

Even though Booker T is talking about Roman Reigns possibly facing the Rock at WrestleMania, the Tribal Chief will face formidable opponents in the next Fatal 4-Way fight at Royal Rumble.

The buildup to WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia has fans excited about Royal Rumble 2024, which is set to take place on January 27 at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay. In the forthcoming Fatal 4-Way battle, Reigns will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight, all of whom are strong opponents. The format raises the stakes since Reigns may lose without being pinned.

Reigns, who had been champion for an amazing four years, didn’t like the new plan and told Paul Heyman to “fix this.” The public is counting down the days until the event, anxious to see whether Reigns can win despite the difficult circumstances.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
