Royal Rumble 2024: current favorites, confirmed entrants heading into the PLE

The WWE Royal Rumble 2024 Premium Live Event has already generated a lot of excitement, as the company always plans some surprise entrants for the event every year. The event will take place on January 27, 2024, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The pre-show for the Royal Rumble will begin at 7 p.m. ET, while the main show will start at 8 p.m. ET. Fans in the US can stream the event on Peacock. The event is highly anticipated for various reasons and promises to be an exciting spectacle.

Royal Rumble 2024: confirmed entrants

The WWE’s Royal Rumble 2024 PLE event will be held at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, Florida. Currently, only four matches have been officially announced, which include Logan Paul defending his United States Championship against Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed Universal Championship against LA Knight, AJ Styles, and Randy Orton in a Fatal Four-Way match. In addition to these matches, there will be Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches.

However, as the Rumble is approaching fast, the participants for the Men’s and Women’s Rumble matches are largely unknown. As of now, only 11 men have confirmed their participation in the Men’s Rumble, and only 6 women have been announced for the Women’s Rumble. This means that 43 spots are still available for both matches, which could result in some surprises during the event.

Although, a few wrestlers have announced their participation in the Royal Rumble 2024 since earlier this month. Along with Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Bobby Lashley, and Drew McIntyre, several others have declared their entry on the men’s side, including Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER, who joined the match nine days ago.

Additionally, all three members of Alpha Academy were announced on WWE’s YouTube channel, and Kofi Kingston and Damian Priest, the Money in the Bank winner, declared their participation this past Monday on “Raw.” On the women’s side, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Nia Jax have been joined by only two names so far. Maxxine Dupri joined the Rumble match at the same time as her Alpha Academy teammates joined the men’s match.

Current favorites to win men’s and women’s Royal Rumble

With the Royal Rumble 2024 just days away in St. Petersburg, the betting odds have been updated to reflect the uncertainty surrounding the Men’s Royal Rumble match. According to “BetOnline,” CM Punk was the favorite for the men’s Rumble match for some time, until Gunther became the co-favorite. However, over the last few days, the situation has reversed, and Punk is now the clear favorite, with Gunther slightly behind him and Cody Rhodes not too far back in third.

There was some speculation about WWE changing the expected matchup of Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns, which would potentially leave Rhodes facing Punk. Although WWE had been teasing a program with Gunther instead of Punk, this speculation has died down now. Despite this, the close odds for the top three men indicate that no one is fully confident about what will happen in St. Petersburg.

According to the current favorites, Bayley is leading the women’s competition, with Becky Lynch and Jade Cargill following closely behind. Even though Jade has not made her in-ring WWE debut yet, she is considered as one of the top contenders.
