Upon viewing Russell Wilson’s impressive Seattle Seahawks resume, the Denver Broncos quickly secured him with a lucrative deal. Despite their high hopes, he only managed a 5–12 record in his first year with the Broncos. Sadly, this struggle continued in the 2023 season as well, letting the Broncos lose trust in their once-beloved quarterback.
Now that his future in Denver is swirling in the air, the Broncos’ starter himself is eying to bid farewell to the Denver city by putting his Denver home on sale.
Russell Wilson wants to sell Cherry Hills mansion
Russell Wilson is currently looking to part ways with his residence in Denver City, as indicated by reports on BusinessDen.com, revealing that he and his wife Ciara have initiated the process of selling their home.
The couple acquired the property at 10 Cherry Hills Park Drive back in April 2022, following Wilson’s trade from the Seattle Seahawks to the Broncos, for a hefty sum of $25 million. This purchase marked a significant increase from the previous record of $16 million for the highest-value home sale in the Denver area.
It has been disclosed that Wilson and Ciara are now entertaining offers and conducting tours for potential buyers.
“The most expensive home ever sold in the Denver area is quietly being shopped around. Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and singer-songwriter wife Ciara are accepting offers, and providing tours to prospective buyers, for the mansion they own in Cherry Hills Village, sources tell BusinessDen,” the report read.
The expansive property spans 20,000 square feet on a 5-acre lot, boasting a magnificent mansion with four bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a basketball court, and a 2,590-square-foot indoor swimming pool.
Russell Wilson expected to be traded by the Broncos
Russell Wilson’s salary of $37 million for the 2025 season is set to be guaranteed by March 18, prompting the Broncos to take action before this deadline.
ESPN’s Jeff Legwold reported that there is widespread belief across the league that the Broncos will part ways with Wilson, even if it means absorbing an NFL-record $85 million in dead money.
This anticipated decision comes in the wake of a tumultuous relationship between Wilson and the Broncos throughout the regular season.
Following an unexpected victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on October 29, the Broncos’ leadership issued a bold ultimatum to Wilson just two days later, urging him to renegotiate his contract. Wilson himself disclosed the ultimatum later.
However, as Wilson did not agree to the terms proposed by the team, he found himself benched, leading him to express his frustration through a cryptic tweet.
With the Broncos finishing the previous season with an 8-9 record, there may be little incentive for them to maintain ties with their franchise quarterback. Wilson, for his part, is likely eager for Denver to release him as soon as possible, allowing him to explore other opportunities in the open market.
It’s safe to assume that most teams would have been satisfied with the statistics of the nine-time Pro Bowler in the recent season. The 32-year-old likely concluded his final season in Denver with 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
What’s your take on Wilson’s future with the Broncos?
