In the Broncos’ 22-24 win over the Bills, the team’s defense played incredibly well, as they gave a hard time to the rival’s MVP candidate Josh Allen who recorded three turnovers. The Bills quarterback had two interceptions in the game and lost a fumble as well.
Meanwhile, the Broncos offense seemed relatively lackluster to Payton, and he thinks the O-line needs to “clean that up” before their next campaign. However, he didn’t shy away from heaping praise on the D-line’s effort and said they “have a lot of good tapes to watch” before departing for the next location, via Essentially Sports.
Payton continued his discussion by praising the Bills’ toughness as they snatched the match with just a field goal due to an interrupted pass. The coach also said the Broncos team will stay in New York for that day, which will be a chance for them to have a film study with the players.
Broncos triumph in thrilling finale against Bills
Though the Bills were struggling lately, the Broncos were the clear underdog against them on Monday. However, Wilson’s team started dominating the contest from the initial period while the Bills’ O-line failed to capitalize on any opportunity in the first half. Allen’s squad faced a 15-8 deficit at halftime following three first-half turnovers.
Broncos place kicker Wil Lutz ensured the last-moment 24-22 victory by connecting on a 36-yard field goal attempt. After going through a series of backlash from the NFL community, Wilson moonlighted as a hero in the game by completing 24 of 29 passes for 192 yards as well as a pair of touchdowns without a single turnover, while Lutz made four field goals.
After smashing the Green Bay Packers and the Chiefs in back-to-back matches, the Broncos have stretched their winning streak to three now.
