Sean Strickland faces wrath of Valentina Shevchenko after NSFW social media rant on Paige Vanzant

Sean Strickland, the recently crowned UFC middleweight champion, has a penchant for outspoken remarks. The middleweight champion has been very critical of the current scenario of the world. He has blatantly criticized the LGBTQI community earning the wrath of the woke media.

Moreover, he has also been critical of the role of women in society. His latest social media post which targeted former female UFC fighter Paige VanZant was met with a rebuttal from Valentina Shevchenko, the former long-reigning women’s flyweight champion.

Sean Strickland launches NSFW rant on Paige Vanzant

Paige Vanzant, the former UFC fighter, after her UFC tenure plied her tried in AEW and Bare Knuckle Boxing. However, she claimed that she made more money through her Only Fans account than her entire fighting career. That too, in 24 hours. It was claimed by Vanzant in her recent interview with Barstool Sports.

Sean Strickland happened to stumble upon the interview and was particularly offended and tweeted his thoughts on the matter. He deduced three points in his tweet, “1. You were signed because you’re hot. 2. Women’s mma is lame. 3. Men will pay more to see you naked than to watch you fight.” Strickland’s tweet mainly insinuated that women are not suitable to work on MMA.

The tweet was a reflection of what he felt the world revolves around. Strickland on numerous occasions has said that he does not particularly watch or enjoy women’s MMA. Moreover, he is of the opinion that the role of women is to be dutiful wives and loving mothers. Strickland had a rough childhood where he suffered abuse from his parents, who struggled with substance abuse.

Valentina Shevchenko claps back at Sean Strickland

Sean Strickland’s NSFW tweet did not go unnoticed by Valentina Shevchenko a.k.a The Bullet. The former UFC flyweight champion, who is at present nursing a hand injury did not mince words to return fire against the middleweight champion for his misogynistic views.

Shevchenko retweeted Strickland’s post with caption, “Interesting unpack here šŸ¤”
That looks more like an offended kid, who got less money in his entire fighter career than female fighters do! šŸ˜‚Good try, maybe UFC will see that and add some cash šŸ’µ to your purse next time. But for now naked is you are šŸ˜‚”

Shevchenko’s tweet brought the discussion to fighter pay. Apparently, Shevchenko felt that Strickland’s disdain stemmed from the belief that Van Zant was making more money than Strickland’s entire fighting career. Shevchenko was one of the longest-reigning champions in the flyweight division and presumably has made millions of dollars.

Strickland will be making his first title defense as a PPV headliner at UFC 297 in Vancouver, Canada. His opponent is the South African middleweight, Dricus Du Plessis. Shevchenko will be making his return after the injury in what would be a trilogy fight with Alexa Grasso for the women’s flyweight title.
