Vettel reveals heartfelt talk with Schumacher

After the incident, the German driver soon became the godfather of Schumacher’s son, Mick. Vettel proceeded to share his last conversation with Schumacher before the unfortunate turn of events occurred. He also stated that their relationship was extremely bonded, with a strong sense of trust and respect.

Vettel said, “The first thoughts were immediately of the last conversation we had together. It couldn’t be more positive. I told him that I was going to be a father and what was coming for us.”

“I really appreciated it, especially towards the end, when our relationship became stronger before the accident, because racing was no longer the biggest issue for both of us, but life in general around racing. My friend in that I just lack sense.”

Vettel also expressed that the absence of Schumacher in the paddock has not only affected his family but has also become a crucial state of agony for Vettel. This was mainly because Schumacher played a vital role in answering the German driver’s questions, irrespective of the subject matter.

Anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s tragic accident marks 10 years

On December 29, 2013, Michael Schumacher was heavily affected by a skiing incident in Switzerland. This year’s December 29th signifies the 10-year anniversary of one of the most tragic incidents in Formula One history.

The Ferrari driver had decided to ski on the alpine slopes, which proved to be the most horrific decision of his life. While skiing, he fell down and hit a rock, developing a severe brain injury.

Following the incident, he was quickly rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, he fell into a coma. However, the doctors did not ever give up their hope and continued to try their best to save the World Champion. A year later, the medical surgeons were finally able to bring him back to consciousness, after which his family moved to Gland, Switzerland, where they continued his rehabilitation for his speedy recovery.

Jean Todt, Ferrari’s team principal, officially stated that even though Schumacher is fortunately still alive after nearly 10 years of the horrendous incident, he is not the same person anymore.

He said, “Life is sometimes unfair. Michael had often been lucky in his life, but then came this tragic accident.

“Thank goodness we were able to do a lot thanks to modern medical possibilities, but still nothing is like it used to be.”
