WrestleMania 40 was an event that deserves to be remembered. Being a part of something so historic was an honor for the fans and the wrestlers alike. Seth Rollins especially had a memorable night as he headlined WrestleMania for the first time in his career. However, after a busy WrestleMania weekend, he’s decided to take a break for a while.
The route that Seth “Freakin” Rollins had to get to WrestleMania 40 was more than difficult. Alongside Cody Rhodes, he competed against The Rock and Roman Reigns in the main event, however, he wound up damaging his knee in the process. The next night, he was slightly hindered by his knee as he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre.
Later on, during the fight between Roman and Rhodes, the Visionary courageously rushed to Rhodes’ aid in the face of the Bloodline’s brutal attack. However, the Tribal Chief assaulted him viciously, even though he was clearly in agony. Since then, Rollins is reportedly going to take a sabbatical after WrestleMania to recuperate. According to sources, he won’t be on television for around four weeks.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported, “Seth Rollins will be taking time off after yesterday. The hope this morning was that this will be only about four weeks off.”
The future of Seth Rollins is uncertain as he considers taking a break from performing. Given his defeat in the Heavyweight championship bout and his recent injuries while helping Rhodes, the future is even more unclear. However, an odd relationship may be developing between the two, hidden behind their friendly greeting.
Is there any showdown brewing between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes?
Rhodes and Rollins have been bitter rivals since their first meetings in 2002. It is essential to explore their past, especially Rollins’ bitterness at being passed up in favor of Rhodes. It was clear that Rollins was frustrated after losing his title at WrestleMania because of injuries he incurred in their tag team battle on Night One, even if he made his main event debut that night.
After what seemed like a polite handshake with Rhodes, Rollins may find it difficult to keep his cool after losing three times at WrestleMania. Most likely, Rollins’ anger will boil over, and he will surely want to get even. This may set Rollins up for a heel change, which he could pull off with ease. The question now is whether WWE will use this plot point to their advantage and make it happen soon.
