Shaquille O’Neal wants more Bol Bol
Bol Bol is the big man for the Phoenix Suns. He has been making the headlines recently after his amazing performance against the Portland Trailblazers.
Shaquille O’Neal has been an avid supporter of Bol Bol ever since the discussion including his name alongside Victor Wembanyama surfaced on Inside the NBA show.
Shaq shared a post on his Instagram story which said, “We want more Bol Bol” expressing his desire to see the young Suns’ center play more in the league. Shaq himself has played in the center position most of his life and has cemented himself as one of the greatest.
O’Neal definitely has great knowledge and experience in the position and when he backs another young center up, the player has to have something special in him.
Shaq backed Bol Bol during Victor Wembanyama hype
During a discussion on the Inside the NBA show, the panelists present there were discussing the uniqueness of Victor Wembanyama and the hype surrounding it. Reggie Miller gave an analysis of the 7’4 Spurs rookie and claimed the rookie to be in a league of his own.
However, Shaquille O’Neal disagreed with Miller and said that they had seen a player of his caliber before naming Sun’s center Bol Bol in the discussion. Shaq is not afraid to disagree with opinions of other people. He even once disagreed with Chriss Russo for his ranking of centers in the NBA.
Shaq was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated where he revealed that he stood firm on his statements about Bol Bol and Wembanyama. He said, “I said you guys are acting like he (Wembamyama) is the first 7’5 player who dribbles coast to coast, and puts it between his legs to shoot a three (pointer). He (Wembanyama) is not. Bol Bol is the first to do it. I have never compared the two. I just said that you guys acted like you have never seen it before, but you have. You have seen Bol Bol do it.”
