Shaquille shared the news on his Instagram story which shows a photo of MéArah with the logos of the colleges that indicated interest in acquiring her to join their basketball programs. The post had the caption “MéArah O’Neal will commit on Sunday.”

The Colleges indicating interest include the University of Tennessee-KnoxVille, Arizona State University, Boston University, Louisiana State University, the University of Florida, the University of Kentucky, the University of California, Berkeley, and Georgia Tech.

The 17-year-old is highly rated as a four-star prospect, with great abilities to play in multiple positions, averaging 11.7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks for the Cyfair Elite EYBL Summer team. MéArah in one of their games, averaged an astonishing 21 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks against the Sports City Angels.

While Shaquille’s strong tie with the LSU remains intact, as he enjoyed amazing college basketball there, as he averaged 21.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game from 1989 to 1992, there are high possibilities that MéArah O’Neal could follow his father’s footsteps.

Shaquille’s children are all doing exceptionally well, as Shareef, who played for UCLA and LSU in college, now plays in the NBA G-League. Amirah was also a college athlete who played basketball for Texas Southern University. While Shaqir currently plays for the TSU with high hopes of playing in the NBA someday, MéArah is on the brink of joining one of the eight colleges that have indicated interest in her.
