Shaquille O’Neal’s post-NBA championship unfulfilled promise turns into hilarious call-out: “Man ain’t bought us no Bentleys”

Shaquille O’Neal, one of the most dominant centers in NBA history, made an immediate impact on his team. During his time with the Miami Heat, he assured a young Udonis Haslem and Dwyane Wade that he would get them a significant gift if they won the title.

Shaq is renowned for being an entertaining teammate, fostering positive relationships with many of his fellow players through humor. He recently revealed that he used to bet on the Maury show with his teammates which goes to show his crazy days as a player in the NBA.

Shaquille O’Neal hilariously called out over unfulfilled Bentley pledge

The former NBA star Udonis Haslem, who was recently honored by the Miami Heat as they announced to retire his jersey, appeared on the “Big Podcast” hosted by Shaquille O’Neal and his co-host Adam Lefkoe. He took part in some of the discussions and drove down memory lane to recall his playing days with Shaq on the team.

During the podcast Haslem revealed an incident where Shaq had promised him and Dwayne Wade Bentleys if they managed to win the championship. Haslem said, “You told me and Dwayne if we win what you were going to do. You said you were gonna buy us Bentleys The man told me and Dwayne that if we win our first championship, he said ‘If we win the title I’mma buy you all Bentleys’ The man ain’t bought us no Bentleys We were motivated as hell but what me and Dwayne did was go and buy our own Bentleys.”

They eventually did win the championship but Shaq did not fulfill the promise. Shaq later told in the podcast that it was his way of motivating his teammates as he used to brag about what he did for his Lakers’ teammates and people would believe him.

When did Shaq win a ring with the Heat?

Shaquille O’Neal left the Los Angeles Lakers where he gained worldwide popularity for the Miami Heat in 2004. Many people believed that Shaq was traded because of the disagreements between him and the future star of the franchise Kobe Bryant. However, it was not the case as it was revealed that the Lakers had refused to offer Shaq his desired contract extension and wanted to rebuild a team around Kobe.

It took some time for O’Neal to get accustomed to his new team but the trade turned out to be good for him. After getting used to the new environment and new team Shaq made sure to lead the Miami Heat to the playoffs of the 2006 season.

Alongside Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem, Shaq led the Maimi Heat to championship glory. Despite the injuries and the falloff in his performance in other aspects, his dominance remained the same in the paint and it played a key factor in Heat’s championship run.
