Sheamus reveals his WWE return was due to “early call up”

The latest Monday Night RAW witnessed Sheamus’ glorious return after the injury, marking his first appearance since his last summer SmackDown clash with former WWE superstar Edge. Everyone was waiting with bated breath for his comeback, particularly after last week’s news. But the Celtic King revealed that his return felt like an “early call-up,” since he had planned to return to action a month later.

The crowd at Monday Night RAW in Montreal was quite welcoming to Sheamus this week. He competed against the powerful superheavyweight Ivar in his first bout and emerged victorious using his famous kneecap move. Despite his outstanding performance, fans couldn’t stop making fun of his recent weight gain.

In response to those lighthearted jokes on social media about his physique, S.O.S. addressed fans on Twitter. He described his return as an “early call,” indicating that he had not expected to be back in action so soon.

He tweeted, “Ok Ok take your best shots.. Whalemus, Too Many Pies, etc.. and then we’re done with the photoshopping & shaming. I was aiming for the Draft & got an early call-up. My bad. On me. Been sleeping in the gym ever since SO watch this space. i appreciate the love too #Sheamoose”

His weight gain is the first thing many critics have said they don’t like about him, which he has also accepted. So, the Irish sensation has handled his criticisms with calmness.

Sheamus fires back at critics due to body shaming

It was widely believed that Sheamus had been diligently exercising due to his famed YouTube training videos. But he also had to cope with a major injury for around six months, which could have limited his workout options. The wrestling world was aware of this, but it didn’t stop some from criticizing his looks and drawing attention to his weight increase.

But the criticism didn’t seem to bother Sheamus’ character in the least. In response to the weight jokes of the critics, he said, “I’m just big-boned.” Many of his fans praised his polite reaction, pointing out that he wouldn’t act like the people who were body-shaming him.

However, do you really think Sheamus has returned to the ring earlier? Share your opinion in the comments.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
