Over the years, Deion Sanders has been one of the most prolific athletes ever to grace the game. His electrifying burst of pace and incredible game awareness took him to a level where he was almost unbeatable and an absolute nightmare for opposition defenses.
Now in his post-retirement era, Coach Prime has taken to coaching young college athletes and building them up for professional careers in the NFL. Among those promising prospects is his own son, Shedeur Sanders, who has announced that he is going to wait another season before stepping foot in the big leagues. In a new announcement, he made some bold claims about himself that seem to have irked the NFL community.
Shedeur Sanders daring remark on QB’s in NFL Draft 2024
Deion Sanders has always waxed lyrical about his own son’s skill and prowess on the ball for any team he plays. In fact, Deion Sanders once said, “I think he has the ability (to be No. 1), but he probably would have been the second quarterback off the board. Let’s just get that straight.” For Jackson State, Shedeur Sanders has prospered and excelled under the tutelage of his own father.
However, in a recent interview, Shedeur Sanders might have said a bit too much about his prospects in the NFL. Apparently, he said that he is already better than any quarterback featured in the draft this year. According to BuffZone, he also talked about the areas where he needs to improve. He said, “Just improving going through reads, going through everything. Just improving footwork, and just the small things really, because that’s the difference between wins and losses is small things. So just better decision making overall, consistency. There’s a lot of things that go into the season and what I’m gonna improve.”
Sanders continued, “I know this year wasn’t my year (for the NFL),” Shedeur said. “I didn’t have enough time at this level because it’s a lot of things that go into it. I just didn’t have enough time on the field and off the field. I feel like I’m just excited to be back with the team to be able to have another year to do things over again, to do it the right way.”
Fans mock Shedeur Sanders
As soon as Shedeur Sanders‘ comments made their way to social media, NFL fans across the country did not take too kindly to the young prospect’s overconfidence. One user echoed the sentiment by saying, “Deion Sanders sperm merchant,” while another quipped, “So why isn’t he declaring for the draft?”
Some other fans said, “If he was so good he would of never been at Jackson State and then need pops to help him get to Boulder, CO. Relax,” signifying that Shedeur has always needed his father’s help to build his career from the ground up.
