Snoop Dogg gets into the ear of Jeanie Buss for Lakers clear-out
The iconic rapper Snoop Dogg recently appeared on the “All The Smoke” podcast with Stephen Jackson where he urged the owner of the Lakers to “move some furniture.” By that statement, Snoop hinted at Jeanie Buss to get active in the trade market and consider parting ways with some of the older players who have been with the team.
He said, “Jeanie this is gonna hurt me more than it’s gonna hurt you. We need to move some furniture! We have to move some furniture fast, some big pieces of furniture… Get us some young guns out there, Old Dog (LeBron James) you doing your thing, I’mma give you yours… Jeanie move some furniture around.”
Snoop Dogg made this statement in response to a question about what advice he would give Jeanie Buss regarding the Lakers. While praising LeBron James for his contributions, Snoop criticized other players for their lackluster performance.
He highlighted the team’s struggles against younger players, specifically citing Ja Morant’s impactful game against the Lakers before his injury. Snoop urged Jeanie Buss to consider trading some players and rejuvenating the roster with fresh, young talent to uphold the franchise’s legacy.
Lakers reportedly getting close to Dejounte Murray trade
As the NBA trade deadline comes closer, more rumors have started to surface. Among them, the most prominent one is the rumor suggesting the trade of Atlanta Hawks star Dejounte Murray to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Several NBA Insiders have backed the rumors and have stated that the Purple and Gold are very adamant about signing the Hawks star who has been a mentee of their ace LeBron James.
In a recent report, Jovan Buha from The Athletic said, “From my understanding, Dejounte Murray is the priority right now, he would be the most likely trade outcome now if I was handicapping the odds. I think they (the Lakers) are the favorites to land him. Again, the big hurdle now is finding that third team.”
Buha supported the rumor connecting Murray to the Lakers and the team’s interest in acquiring him. However, with no official announcement confirming the move, fans, including Snoop Dogg, can only wait and hope for the rumors to materialize.
