Sofyan Amrabat was left out of the Fiorentina squad vs. Rapid Vienna in the Europa Conference League. He has remained in Florence, where he has trained alone amidst interests from Manchester United and Liverpool FC.
Liverpool was informed of the availability of the player. Fiorentina has also indicated that they are willing to sell, but no formal bid has arrived for him yet. The Italy-based football club is growing weary of the situation and has set a deadline for his departure.
Latest on Sofyan Amrabat’s potential Old Trafford switch
Sofyan Amrabat has been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer. The deal for the 27-year-old Moroccan should have been done long ago. However, Manchester United has yet to formally bid for the Central-midfielder.
Personal terms between Amrabat and United were never really an issue, as the midfielder himself seems to want a move to the club. However, both parties knew that for any other Manchester United signing to happen, there has to be an outgoing.
Manchester United exercised patience, waiting for the departures of Fred Rodriguez and Harry Maguire before making their moves for Sofyan Amrabat and a new center-back. Fred Rodriguez moved to Fenerbahçe. However, Harry Maguire has expressed his desire to remain at the club, despite a prior agreement with West Ham for a transfer fee of £30 million.
Shortly after Fred’s departure, Manchester United’s interest became rivaled by Liverpool’s interest in Sofyan Amrabat, but they never made any formal bid for the player. Fabrizio Romano, on X, said, “Liverpool are now informed on Sofyan Amrabat, no formal bid made yet — just contact to be informed on conditions of the deal
He further emphasized, “No decision made yet; Liverpool are still exploring the market to pick new favourite DM.”
Shortly after they expressed their interest in the player, Liverpool made a shock move for Stuttgart skipper Wataru Endo as they sought midfield reinforcements.

The situation has taken a turn for the worse, with the possibility of Mason Mount being sidelined due to an injury, further complicating matters. As reported by Daily Mail, the Red Devils also secretly lost to Burnley in a friendly indoor game.
