The NFL Pro Bowl lists are a sure-shot way of determining the skill and quality of any particular player who takes to the pitch for any of the franchises involved. Over the years, the list has included some of the modern greats, such as Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Drew Brees.
However, there have also been quite a lot of snubs from the Pro Bowl lists, some of which have raised eyebrows. Among those would be the snub of Antoine Winfield Jr., safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Let’s find out more about it.
Antoine Winfield Sr. fumes at son’s Pro Bowl snub
When your son makes it big in any field, his success becomes yours. And that is exactly the case for Antoine Winfield Sr., as he took to social media in order to voice his opinion about the high-profile snub of his son from the Pro Bowl list this year.
In a scathing post made on Instagram, Winfield Sr. blasted the NFL officiators and selectors for keeping his son out and including players like Budda Baker of the Minnesota Vikings. In the photo, he also pointed out the stats, comparing his son with Baker.
The caption read, “WE DEMAND A RECOUNT🤬🤬🤬. @nfl somebody has some explaining to do!!! Ain’t NO WAY in HELL Buddha Baker goes to the Pro Bowl ahead of My lil man with NO STATS🤬. I know how important ProBowls are on the Resume & it just so happens to be his Contract year🤔. We ain’t going for the Bullshit. Somebody Need to Holla at me🤬🤬🤬.”
Antoine Winfield, who is himself an NFL veteran, clearly knows what it means for the players to feature on the Pro Bowl team and has every right to demand a recount, especially when his son has stats that are visibly better than those of players in similar positions.
