Pittsburgh Steelers’ plane made an emergency landing in Kansas City
Coach Mike Tomlin gave the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday off after they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 23-18, so they were gladly on their way home after advancing to a 2-1 start of the season.
On their ride home, the team’s charter plane had to make an urgent landing in Kansas City, Missouri. The team plane arrived in Kansas City just before 5 a.m. EDT, according to KDKA-TV.
The news sparked fear among the Steelers fans, yet soon the team spokesman Burt Lauten’s post freed them from the anxiety. Lauten assured through a post on X that “everyone on the plane is safe and we are making necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today.”
Before the plane made an emergency landing, the Steelers players were trapped on board for ten hours. Oil pressure failure in one of the engines was later reported as the cause of the abrupt occurrence.

Cam Heyward, the team’s defensive tackle, also wrote a post about the emergency landing in Kansas City on X. The player appeared to be relishing the situation as he made a joke about the safety of Minkah Fitzpatrick’s penalty even at that crucial moment.
“Dang emergency landing in KC. I think it’s due to @minkfitz_21 “roughing the passer call” but seriously landing KC”, Heyward wrote on X.
Cameron did not sit idle after posting and soon came to entertain his fans with another astonishing appeal. In another X post, the DE of the Steelers requested pop star Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce for a lift.
“Yo @taylorswift13 & @tkelce we might need a ride to Pittsburgh”, he wrote in his next post.
As the dating rumor of these two stars from different worlds is already hitting the news headlines, Heyward wished to board the running train. However, the Steelers DT’s back-to-back humorous posts provided a good excuse to chuckle aloud in the midst of this tense circumstance.
