Smith sports bloopers along with an audio of Smith bashing Williamson.
The video gained traction on social media, shedding light on the awkward moments of Stephen A. Smith in the sports world. The Pelicans further utilized a graphic showcasing Smith’s points per game in his college basketball career, mocking the journalist. Smith, who allegedly averaged just 1.5 points per game, didn’t hesitate to retaliate against the Pelicans.
Posting a video on Twitter, Stephen A. Smith brutally dismissed the New Orleans Pelicans in a ten-minute rant. The famed journalist also dismissed the team’s chances of success in the playoffs. Quite enraged, Smith also proceeded to criticize the team for their lack of priorities.
Smith started the video by saying, “Hey, New Orleans, you didn’t think I was going to let you off the hook, did you? I don’t know who put you up to that, but you need to be educated a little bit more about Stephen A. Smith. No. 1, I don’t give a s–t.”
In another tweet, the journalist said, “Now……what’s y’all excuse for never winning anything??? Can’t wait to see y’all in April. May and June? The Pelicans social media team altered a very famous meme and posted the image that read, “I ain’t watching all that, I’m happy for you though or sorry that happened.”
Fans from the NBA community loved the Pelicans’ response to the video and applauded the team for their swift and appropriate response.
The feud between Smith and the team began after the analyst called out Zion Williamson for his lack of professionalism and his tendency to be out of shape that brutally affected his performances on the court.
On ESPN’s “Get Up” show, Smith said, “Zion Williamson, it’s not about his game, it’s about how many burgers he’s eating and whether or not he is going to be in shape, or if he’s going to keep eating McDonald’s and have chefs clamoring for him to come to their restaurants.”
Smith is yet to respond to the Pelicans’ ignorant reply but it is certain that any response from the journalist will only encourage the Pelicans to respond in this ongoing feud.
