After NBA revealed the rankings for the top 10 players in the league, a new list featuring the top active scorers has surfaced and LeBron James doesn’t disappoint in this one. The list ranks the top 40 players who are currently active in the NBA on the basis of the points they have scored during their entire career.
The list, shared by NBA Central, is topped by LeBron James which is not surprising given the behemoth he has been in his time at the NBA. However, the surprising thing is that Stephen Curry did not even make the top 5 of this list.
LeBron James easily leads the list of top 20 active NBA scorers
The NBA as a league has always been famous for its scoring legends, whether it be Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, or the King of modern basketball, LeBron James. The top scorers in the league are always the ones to gain the most popularity and stardom, and LeBron James has become a global icon just like the ones before him.
In the list of the NBA’s Top 40 active scorers, LeBron James leads the rest of the pack with a huge difference. The points difference between him and the number 2 position held by Kevin Durant is more than 10,000 which is mind-blowing.
Bron is expected to hold the first position as he has been the most dominant scorer in the last decade breaking records in every team has been with. Curry on the other hand surprised a lot of people by coming in at the sixth position despite being one of the most prolific three-point shooters the league has ever seen.

Stephen Curry holds the sixth position in both the NBA top players rankings list and in the active scorers list. The way Steph plays would have almost anyone thinking that he would follow LeBron James in the second position. He is the most consistent and highly successful three-point scorer the league has ever seen. The guy rarely misses and had started celebrating on several occasions even before the ball made it into the basket.
Watching Steph is enticing and it makes you believe that he must have a scoring record but the numbers don’t lie. Curry trails his former teammate Kevin Durant and Mr. Triple Double, Russell Westbrook on the list. Durant holds the second position after LeBron James and Westbrook has secured the fourth position for himself.
It is to be expected as Curry is a point guard whose main task is playmaking or to move the ball for the forwards to score. Curry does an excellent job at that and has also developed lethal long-range shooting ability over the years. It is understandable why he thinks of himself as the best point guard of all time.
