Teams now know exactly how much they need to pay for Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne is back to his best as the Manchester City midfielder returned to the pitch with a bang. The Belgian has significantly aided his club in the latter half of the season after missing the first one due to injury. It is clear that he remains one of their best players.

However, it seems that many clubs, including numerous Saudi clubs, are interested in bringing the player to their club. Being such a high-profile player, there is no doubt any club would want him. City has decided to name their price to let go of the player.

Kevin De Bruyne asking price revealed

It was already reported this summer Kevin De Bruyne was the interest of many Saudi clubs. Many Saudi Pro League clubs have brought in a number of European stars including Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema last year. De Bruyne was one of their targets, and so is Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

However, the Belgian midfield maestro had no intention of leaving City at the peak of his career. He had only just won the Champions League and was still performing at the highest level. But Saudi clubs are interested once again, and they are ready to pay big money for him as well.

With his contract ending next year, City is also exploring possibilities. The lucrative offers from the Saudi clubs may tempt De Bruyne to leave England. To prevent their star player from leaving for the Arab country, they have decided to slap an expensive asking price. Reports suggest the Citizens would demand ÂŁ100 million to part ways with the player.

This sum is nothing for the Saudi clubs who have already shown they can spend huge amount of money. However, this could help City in the long run with their FFP, and even help them to find a suitable replacement, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz a possible target.

Kevin De Bruyne’s contract situation

Kevin De Bruyne will see his current contract run out in the summer of 2025, and this is making Manchester City consider all their options. They want to tie down the playmaker to agree to a contract extension until 2026. The player is yet to show any indications of talking about a new contract, and the club has also not initiated any talks, though they are preparing to.

De Bruyne currently earns around ÂŁ400k weekly with his current contract. If City wish to keep him, they may have to increase that amount and will also need to present a strong sporting project to him. They may also decide to move on from him and cash in while they can, as the Belgian is approaching the age of 33 this summer.

Kevin De Bruyne will now focus on Manchester City’s next game on Wednesday, a FA Cup 5th round game against Luton Town.
