Similar to his attractive appearance, which was formerly speculated to be the consequence of cosmetic surgery, his illustrious career will last forever and occasionally make news when a contemporary quarterback’s good fortune allows them to be included beside the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
Recent reports indicated that C.J. Stroud, a rookie starter for the Houston Texans, and J.J. McCarthy, a starter for the Michigan Wolverines, were the fortunate ones to inherit Brady’s records.
C.J. Stroud on track to break Tom Brady’s record
In this year’s NFL Draft, the Houston Texans snagged the second overall pick, and they wasted no time in entrusting their starting quarterback role to C.J. Stroud. Stroud made quite the impact in his rookie season, leading all first-year quarterbacks in passing yards, tossing six touchdowns, and boasting an impressive passer rating of 100.6. Houston is off to its best start since its 10-6 finish in 2019, thanks to Stroud’s leadership.
Robert Griffin III, an ESPN commentator and former Heisman Trophy winner, was so taken with Stroud’s debut season performance that he couldn’t help but include the young quarterback in his list of the top ten NFL quarterbacks.
“CJ Stroud isn’t just the Texans’ franchise quarterback. He is already a top-ten quarterback in the NFL. The numbers back it up, the film backs it up, and he passes the eye test with FLYING COLORS, ” he said per SI.com.
This season, Stroud attempted 186 passes without throwing an interception. With his feat, he passed second-place quarterback Tom Brady with 162 straight pass attempts without an interception in 2016.

Dak Prescott, the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, topped this list with 176 throws. Stroud, in his first NFL season, has now eclipsed both of the greats. By dint of his prowess, the rookie player even garnered praise from the NBA legend LeBron James.
JJ McCarthy overtakes Brady in record-breaking victory
Before the start of his stunning NFL career under the wings of the New England Patriots, Tom Brady played for the Michigan Wolverines from 1995 to 1999. Having been the starting quarterback for two seasons, he set records for the most passes attempted and completed (214 in his rookie season), and he ranked ninth in Michigan history with 5,351 yards of throwing.
Like his spot, his record was also taken over by a Michigan player. After the team’s most recent victory over Purdue, JJ McCarthy passed the NFL icon with 5,369 passing yards all-time.
