That’s the reason I come to Chelsea. I wanted to showcase my ability week in week out like I said. Thankfully it’s paid off.”

Many were surprised that Cole left a great City team with a manager like Pep, under whom he could have improved even more. However, on the other hand, he wouldn’t have received the same playing time as he has at Chelsea. Pep had previously said that Cole would have gotten more minutes this season if he stayed. He admitted that as soon as Cole wanted to leave, he had to accept it. Cole has been truly amazing at Chelsea, and there is a chance that he could be selected for the upcoming Euro tournament in Germany with the England squad. He has gained much interest from many clubs as a promising player, and it is safe to say he has made a smart decision by leaving his former club.

Cole Palmer’s season so far

Cole Palmer has been having a great season, even though Chelsea cannot say the same. The Blues recently lost the Carabao Cup final, are 11th in the Premier League with no prospect of European soccer next season, and only have the FA Cup to play for. However, Cole has been having one of the best seasons for an English youngster.

Palmer has scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists in the Premier League, all as a midfielder. In total, he has contributed to 26 goals this season, leading the list for players under 21, equaled only by Jude Bellingham. He has been Chelsea’s best player and a major reason for their current standing.
