A recent video of Conor McGregor sparring has set the MMA community on social media excited. The former two-division UFC champion was seen sparring with an unnamed fighter. McGregor was seen showcasing his elite striking in the video.

McGregor’s return date is not officially confirmed. But there is confirmation from the UFC CEO, Dana White that it would most likely be in early 2024. His opponent is confirmed to be Michael Chandler. Chandler coached against McGregor in the recently concluded TUF series.
McGregor’s previous two bouts were losses to Dustin Poirier. Both events were massive pay-per-view events. Chandler too fought Poirier in his last bout losing via rear-naked-choke submission at UFC 281. The Irishman’s return to the octagon was mainly delayed due to USADA regulations. He allegedly took Steroids to heal his fractured leg.
“The Notorious” recently confirmed via Instagram that his commitments with USADA are going to be over. This is good news for Michael Chandler who was patiently waiting for the Irishman to take care of his end of the bargain. This was amidst the Irishman calling out Justin Gaethje and other fighters on social media.
McGregor is the biggest superstar the UFC has ever seen. His ascension to the top of the mountain coincided with UFC’s rise as the premier sports promotion in the world. Notably, McGregor had a boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. breaking several pay-per-view records.

Fan reaction to the sparring video suggests that McGregor still has fans backing him up. Fans were very happy to see the McGregor, who used his Karate fighting style to the fullest. Some sections of fans were very happy to see McGregor using the style that was nonexistent during his bout with Mayweather Jr.
One fan was happy to see their favorite fighter back in top shape. The fan went on to label McGregor as a ‘King’. The Irishman’s comeback is highly anticipated and is gonna be one of the biggest events of 2024, which is also the year of UFC 300, an event McGregor has set his eyes on.
A big section of the fans were happy to see the elusive moment of the Irishman. The agility of the former double champion was what stood out during his initial run in the UFC to become the double champion. The fight with Chandler could be his stepping stone back to title contention.
