The crowd has been hooked by The Rock’s stirring remarks since his explosive return to WWE. But some of the wrestlers in the locker room think he’s getting preferential treatment, so not everyone is happy about it.
Meanwhile, there have been rumors that he has faced sanctions since his appearance often goes against WWE’s TV restrictions. Recent news reports say he’s getting flak for the way he spoke, but The Rock replied in his signature style.
The Rock dismisses “horse sh*t” report
Several reports have been going around that WWE stars are uncomfortable with what they see as a double standard when it comes to vulgarity in TV and social media ads. This talk got worse when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson used strong language while speaking on Cody Rhodes’s story. This made some wrestlers wonder if WWE’s PG policy is always the same.
A recent Twitter news post alleged that TKO reportedly ordered the People’s Champion to adhere to a TV-PG rating. Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported per Yardbarker, “The talent was told that because the company was publicly traded and the wishes of TKO management was to be TV-PG. The feeling was that if he’s on the board, if anything, he should be he one following the rules to set the example.”
However, Brahma Bull instantly dismissed this report as “complete horsesh*t.” Moreover, Dijak from NXT was supportive of Rock’s slang reply and pushed him to continue. This conversation made it quite clear that the claimed report has no validation. Thus, WWE fans no longer have to worry about TKO limiting The Rock’s stimulating promos on WWE broadcasts.
However, outside of his TKO circuit, the People’s Champion might end up in boiling water with some trouble over an allegedly ‘stolen’ moniker.
The Rock accused of stealing nickname
There are serious repercussions in the wrestling industry for using someone else’s name or moniker. Recently, an accusation has surfaced from an AEW star that WWE veteran The Rock stole her moniker, “The Final Boss.”
The Rock began calling himself “The Final Boss” to refer to his feud with Cody Rhodes, saying that he was the last thing that Rhodes had to deal with in his WWE career. This upset AEW Women’s Division standout Serena Deeb, who had used the moniker during an event.
Without identifying him, she accused The Rock of stealing her moniker, saying she stated it first and someone began using it a week later. Serena claimed, “Funny thing is, I said that on Collision and then the following week…I don’t even know if I can say this. [Someone says he stole it] He stole it? Someone took it, and you guys would know who he is,” she said.
