The Undertaker made his presence felt at WrestleMania 40 when he thwarted The Rock from spoiling the ending of Cody Rhodes’ story. Two weeks have passed since the monumental event, but the WWE Universe is still not over the surreal experience.
While many were overwhelmed by the moment, some raised questions regarding how the Rock sold the Phenom’s chokeslam. Talking on his “Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway” podcast, The Undertaker answered one such question. When asked if The Rock undersold his finisher, Taker said, “That wasn’t a spot for overdramatic, I thought he did a great job with that.” (After 1:03:40)
The Dead Man continued to explain that it was the right thing to do for The Rock so that the actual story taking place in the ring could unfold and added that he was more than happy about how The People’s Champ sold his move.
After the Final Boss came down to the ring and took out John Cena, the gong hit as the lights went out. The Undertaker emerged from the darkness to deliver a massive chokeslam to the Hollywood star. The Rock was unable to interfere in the match afterwards and, later on, after the event, sent a message to the American Badass and the Undertaker duly replied.
The Undertaker responds to The Rock’s warning
After WrestleMania, the Rock provided a health update and did not forget to mention the damage caused by the Undertaker.
The Brahma Bull sent a message to the Undertaker via his Instagram account that read, “The guy sure knows how to ruin a party. I’ll see you down the road, my friend. Paybacks a bitch for you – but fun for me.” The Undertaker did not let the warning go unheard and responded by commenting, “The party doesn’t start until I walk in…I’m not hard to find!”
While the Undertaker retired from in-ring competition back in 2020, the thought of a showdown between the pair cannot be discarded. As they always say in this business, “Never say never.”
