WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker retired during the 2020 WWE Survivor Series. However, in 2022, he was finally inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. This was an unforgettable moment for the WWE Universe as he received a standing ovation from everyone in attendance at the event.
The wrestling legend believes that Dustin Rhodes, formerly known as Goldust, will one day join him in the Hall of Fame. The Deadman thinks Goldust deserves to be there for several reasons.
The Undertaker wants Goldust in the WWE Hall of Fame
Dustin Rhodes, who was previously known as Goldust in WWE, is currently working for the All Elite Wrestling promotion. During his time in WWE, Goldust won several titles, including the Intercontinental Championship three times.
Recently, The Undertaker was asked on the Six Feet Under podcast whether he thinks Goldust deserves a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame. However, it is unlikely that he will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame while he is under contract with WWE’s rival promotion, AEW.
“Absolutely. 100%. This is a semantic thing at this point. I would imagine at some point down the road. I think his resume is Hall of Fame-worthy. Obviously, we know the one stickler right now, and I think at some point that will go away. Then I couldn’t see too much time probably going by that he wouldn’t be inducted,” said The Undertaker.
He then appreciated the fact that Dustin Rhodes was successful in making his Goldust character his own, just as The Deadman did himself. However, he complained that not everyone appreciates Goldust as much as they do his character.
He said, “He embraced that character [Goldust]. He made it his own. A lot of people talk about me and my character and make it their own, but he did that with Goldust. Dustin comes from that traditional wrestling style too, along with his dad, Dusty. But to go so far in another direction than Dusty or what Dustin had done up to that point, that’s a big roll of the dice.”
The Undertaker receives support from Cody Rhodes’ sister
Teil Rhodes, the sister of WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes, has responded to The Undertaker’s recent statement about legendary 15-time champion Dustin Rhodes. The Undertaker expressed his belief that Goldust deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and also predicted that Dustin will likely be inducted after he finishes performing for AEW.
Dustin Rhodes joined WWE (then known as the WWF) in 1990. He gained popularity under the ring name Goldust and won several championships, including the World Tag Team Championship, the WWE Tag Team Championship, the Hardcore Championship nine times, and the Intercontinental Championship three times. Later, he left the Stamford-based promotion and has been performing for AEW since 2019.
Recently, Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes’ sister, Teil Rhodes, took to Twitter to react to The Undertaker’s comments. She asked if anyone would disagree with The Deadman’s statement. She wrote, “Who wouldn’t agree?”
