“There was no T-Mac big”: Gilbert Arenas disclosed BTS decision of Tracy McGrady to finish 6-hour photoshoot with 5 clicks

Former three-time All-Star point guard Gilbert Arenas is widely known for his outspoken personality. Arenas, though didn’t get to win a championship ring in his time, had a great career, and was voted the most improved NBA player in the 2002-2003 campaign.

Gilbert Arenas who was nicknamed “Agent Zero”, played his final NBA game in the 2012 Western Conference First Round on 13 May 2012. The retired point guard revealed a situation recalling his prime days where he took part in a photoshoot and was nearly stunned quiet by a fellow NBA legend.

Gilbert Arenas revealed Tracy McGrady call at photoshoot

Tracy McGrady is arguably one of the most underestimated basketball players in history. Even though he was one of the league’s top scorers during his peak, he didn’t make it to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team, a decision that left even Allen Iverson bewildered.

Recently Gilbert Arenas revealed his photoshoot incident with fellow NBA legends Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, and Tracy McGrady during his appearance on the All The Smoke podcast.

During the show Arenas said, “KG big, Duncan big, they was no T-Mac big, We’re in photoshoots. We’re talking about KG bruh, Tim Duncan. Mac coming in, he was like, ‘What are we doing today? What’s the call time?’”

“Someone says, ‘Uh, we’re going to be here six hours.’ ‘Oh, hell no we’re not. Y’all got five flicks. I’m going to hear five clicks and we’re out of here.’ Like you know me, I’m young, ‘Like 5?’ and I’m looking at Tim and he’s like, ‘Hey, whatever Mac say goes bruh.’ One, two, five. Walk out. ‘That ain’t it. That’s it?’ Tim was like, ‘If Mac says it, that’s it. We done.’”

Arenas was completely baffled that Tracy McGrady was done with a six-hour photoshoot within just five clicks. Gilbert went on to say how Tim Duncan backed McGrady’s decisions without asking questions. Needless to say, the entire squad respected Tracy McGrady’s word and looked up to his leadership.

Arenas discussed what made T-Mac special in his prime

Tracy McGrady’s name can’t be skipped when talking about the NBA’s greatest scorers. Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, who faced McGrady multiple times, made an appearance on the Fubo Sports podcast, in which he disclosed the reasons behind McGrady’s lasting legacy on the court.

Arenas didn’t fail to remember when McGrady scored his career-high 62 points against his team the Wizards. Gilbert Arenas, being a great player as well, averaged 40 points that particular game but it wasn’t enough for the win against McGrady’s Magic.

Arena said, “T-Mac was an excellent shooter, and he was very athletic. Mac was great at creating his shot and elevating it. I remember the day when he got 62, and I think he missed 10 or 12 free throws that game.” Arenas revealed McGrady’s strength to be his shooting ability and quick ball release.

Arenas added, “Just like Kawhi, these guys are amazing shooters to start off with. The athleticism of T-Mac was secondary to his shooting ability.” Though injuries plagued Tracy McGrady’s career, he still managed to secure his name among the well-remembered figures in the league’s history.
