Kylian Mbappe is preparing for a summer move to Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants snapping up the Frenchman on a free transfer. According to reports, Mbappe has already penned a five-year deal with Real Madrid, which will run until 2029. He will become the club’s highest-paid player, alongside current highest earners Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
It could be a very hectic summer for the former Monaco man because Thierry Henry, who is now the U-21 coach for France, wants him to attend the 2024 Olympics, which will be hosted in Paris. Mbappe, 25, will become a Real Madrid player by July, and Henry is now beginning to fancy his chances of convincing Real Madrid to let their new signing join his squad to participate in the 2024 Olympics.
When asked if he would personally call Florentino Perez to ask his permission for Mbappe to represent France at the Olympics, Henry gave an honest reply. “Firstly, I don’t have his number,” the Arsenal legend admitted. “Jokes aside, we know that Real Madrid is an institution. You have to stay in your place, send an email if you can get a meeting the proper way. If a meeting ever happens, we’ll try to plead our case,” he continued.
“We’re going to try and ask for a meeting with Real Madrid, yes. We can’t stop at a ‘no’, but if a ‘no’ remains a ‘no’, I don’t hold the cards in my hand to get anything,” he added.

With the Olympics coming in the summer of 2024, Thierry Henry, who is the coach of the France Under-21s team, fancies the opportunity to have a player of Kylian Mbappe’s caliber in his squad. The outgoing PSG star is eligible to participate in the competition but there’s a catch. His participation heavily depends on Real Madrid’s choice to let him, especially with a hectic summer in international football.
Kylian Mbappe will most likely represent France at the 2024 Euro in Germany, which is scheduled to run from June 14 to July 14. With France having one of the strongest squads in the world, it is likely they will go deep in the competition.
This means Mbappe will not get enough rest before getting to play in the Olympics, which will not be feasible considering how hectic this season is already going for him. Reports suggest that Real Madrid will only allow him to participate in one of those two tournaments before resting ahead of his first preseason at the club.
