There has been a viral video circulating recently that shows a young Cora Jade meeting CM Punk at a signing event. The video shows the former NXT Women’s Champion crying and her father thanking Punk for being a role model and keeping his daughter out of trouble.
During an interview backstage at the NXT Deadline 2023 event, The Second City Saint surprised Jade upon her return to NXT after recovering from a serious injury, recreating a moment from many years prior.
CM Punk surprises Cora Jade with heartfelt message
At the NXT Deadline 2023 event, CM Punk made an appearance in the ring alongside WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who currently manages NXT. The two of them clicked a selfie together, and Punk suggested that he might sign with NXT instead of joining Raw or SmackDown on the main roster.
The event also saw the return of the talented emerging female wrestler, Cora Jade, who attacked the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria. A viral video circulating on social media shows a young Jade, from years before joining the WWE Universe, meeting The Second City Saint and becoming emotional about the encounter.
WWE posted a backstage clip of CM Punk and Cora Jade exclusively on Twitter. Punk’s words made Jade emotional, but he later apologized, hugged her, and even took a selfie. Punk expressed his pride in Jade’s journey in the wrestling industry. He acknowledged her backstage, and she talked about how she grew up watching him in the ring.
“I’m proud of you. You should be very proud of yourself. Often, I feel like I need to be stepping on the gas, and I don’t stop and smell the roses, so you should do that. This is your house now. You should be very proud of yourself, and [Punk’s wife] April’s proud of you too,” said CM Punk.
Dave Bautista hilariously reacts to CM Punk’s Cora Jade surprise
On November 25, CM Punk made a surprising comeback to WWE at Survivor Series, which took place in his hometown of Chicago. The WWE Universe gave him a huge reception when his theme music played after the Men’s WarGames match.
On September 2, a disagreement with Jack Perry at AEW All In 2023 led to the abrupt ending of Punk’s association with AEW. AEW President Tony Khan announced the termination of Punk’s contract at the United Center in Chicago before Collision. Punk’s appearance at the Survivor Series was his first appearance in WWE since 2014.
NXT star Cora Jade is a huge fan of CM Punk, and recently an old interaction video of her and Punk went viral on social media. In a video, Cora Jade can be seen breaking down in tears as she meets her favorite wrestler. The video is from a few years ago, but it has resurfaced on social media.
WWE legend Dave Bautista responded to a video on Instagram and added a humorous twist. He claimed that he also became emotional when he first met Punk and joked that he cried the first 10 times he met him.
“I cried the first 10 times I met punk as well. Totally get it! Love this,” Bautista wrote.
