Title: Shaquille O’Neal vouching for Bol Bol over Victor Wembanyama gets validation after Suns vs Spurs

The NBA fans were treated to a clash of titans as 7’3″ Bol Bol faced 7’4″ Victor Wembanyama during the Phoenix Suns vs San Antonio Spurs game on March 23. While the Suns ran riot over the lowly Spurs, the two big men were undeniably the main attraction of the show.

As the NBA world is raving about the French rookie and his standout performances, one man deviated from the mass to point out an equally unstoppable force in Bol Bol. The man in question is none other than the blueprint of NBA big men, Shaquille O’Neal.

Footage of Shaq advocating for Bol Bol over Victor Wembanyama resurfaces after Suns vs Spurs

Shaquille O’Neal raised many eyebrows with his comment about Bol Bol which was misinterpreted as a comparison with the San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama. However, in the recent face-off between the two players, the NBA community understood Shaq’s previous assessment.

A couple of months ago on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” when Reggie Miller expressed his admiration for Wemby and said that he has not seen a player like the French center, O’Neal disagreed with him saying that Bol Bol’s style of play is similar to that of the budding star’s. The statement was stretched out of proportion and interpreted as Shaq choosing Bol Bol over Wembanyama.

Later in another interview, the 4-time NBA Champion stated, without changing his previous opinion, “Bol Bol is the first. I never compared the two. I just said you guys act like you’ve never seen it before, but you have. You’ve seen Bol Bol do it.” Recently, talking about this topic on his podcast “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” the host pointed out that the only difference between the two players is that the Suns’ center is lazy.

The Frenchman has created a lot of buzz and received heaps of praise for his exceptional performance in his rookie year but in the Spurs’ last game against the Suns, Bol Bol outperformed Wemby with his 19 minutes off-the-bench appearance. The Spurs lost the game by 106-131 with the 20-year-old scoring 13 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assists in 20 minutes whereas Suns’ Bol Bol scored the same point in 19 minutes along with creating a bit of drama on Saturday night’s game.

Bol Bol’s NSFW refute to refs call goes viral

In a recent incident, Rudy Gobert called out the referees claiming that they had fixed the game beforehand and now Bol Bol had made an allegation as well. During the Suns’ last game, Bol Bol got furious because of a foul call on Wembanyama and called out the game officials for favoring the French center.

Although the announcers did not mention what the 24-year-old Suns center said, it could be made out that Bol Bol uttered, “Y’all d–k-riding bro” claiming the officials are offering favors to Wemby, “I get it,” said Bol in a dejected manner. The courtside mic caught the words in clarity and the footage has since gone viral on social media.

Despite having a bad record of 15-56 with the franchise. Wemby’s individual performance has been commendable averaging 20.7 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists making him a suitable candidate for the Rookie of the Year title. With the Suns playing the Spurs again on March 25, fans can surely expect some more drama unfolding in the chance rivalry between the two towering centers.
