Brady, a proud product of Michigan, had already secured an impressive legacy with seven Super Bowl victories. Meanwhile, Stroud represented Ohio State during his college football career. TB12 got a chance to pull the leg of the Texans star as his Michigan squad secured a victory over Ohio State.
Michigan’s victory spurs Tom Brady’s social media taunt
The storied rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan reached a fever pitch this year with the involvement of Tom Brady and CJ Stroud. This age-old battle took center stage as the 2nd-ranked Wolverines clashed with the No. 3 Buckeyes on November 25.
The highly anticipated faceoff ended with Michigan securing a historic 30-24 victory over Ohio State. Ahead of the match, the ex-NFL star had an interesting bet for Stroud. After Michigan secured the incredible win, TB12 hilariously joked that the Texans QB was smart not to bet on him.
“Smart move not taking the bet @CJ7STROUD. At least you keep the rocket arm and 4.4 40 time,” posted Brady.
While playing as a starting quarterback for Ohio State, Stroud faced losses in both encounters with Michigan. He was the first Buckeyes quarterback since Steve Bellisari in 1999 and 2000 to succumb to consecutive losses against the Wolverines. Now, his team again went down to the long-time rivals.
Brady challenged C.J. Stroud with Super Bowl ring bet
Tom Brady has recently injected excitement into the college football world with an unconventional wager during his Let’s Go! podcast. In a playful exchange, he bet one of his prized Super Bowl rings against Ohio State’s success in an upcoming game. The California Cool made this high-stakes bet with C.J. Stroud ahead of the intense match.
Brady’s bet was simple: if Ohio State emerges victorious, he’ll relinquish one of his prestigious Super Bowl rings to one of the leading candidates for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
“Alright so, we got a bet,” Brady said. “So, if Ohio State wins, which I don’t really feel is … whatever. You get one of my Super Bowl rings”, he said per Fox Sports.
However, not to be outdone, Tom Terrific set forth his conditions: if Michigan State triumphed, he humorously requested Stroud’s youth, agility, speed, and all future NFL years.
“And if Michigan beats Ohio State, then you got to give me all your youth, your agility, your time in the 40-yard dash and all your future years in the NFL.”
TB12 wanted to learn Stroud’s excitement in this bet as well, saying, “How about that?”. However, for Stroud, “That’s a bet.” Nevertheless, the 46-year-old himself was worried, as he had never bet one of his Super Bowl rings before.
The young NFL player gracefully declined the offer and reaffirmed his determination to forge his own path in the NFL rather than relying on others’ accolades.
“I’m not going to take your Super Bowl ring, Tom. That’s yours, bro. I want to get my own.”
Despite the rivalry and the ongoing controversies surrounding Michigan State’s opponents, CJ Stroud acknowledged the team’s skill and maintained a respectful tone.
