Over the last decade, Real Madrid has been the most successful club, clinching multiple continental and domestic titles, including victories in Club World Cups, thereby cementing their status as the world’s premier club on numerous occasions. Their string of success is a testament to their impeccable roster, which boasts world-class players.
Among them stands Germany’s World Cup winner, Toni Kroos who’s rated as the most elite midfielder of this generation. Following his return from international retirement to once again represent his country, discussions about his contract situation in Madrid have become a focal point of interest.
Both sides are relaxed on Toni Kroos new contract
At the end of the current 2023/24 season, Spanish giants Los Blancos would face the expiration of contracts for their iconic midfield duo, Luka Modrić, and Toni Kroos. Meanwhile, Modrić is linked with a return to his boyhood club Dinamo Zagreb with uncertainty over his future beyond 2024.
However, for the German international, the prospects of a contract extension seem quite positive. Last year, he signed an extension through a late deal and recently addressed his situation during a press conference ahead of his national team duties for the March 2024 international break.
“I need to first clear the issue of my (club) contract. I don’t have one for next season, There are no issues whatsoever. My relationship with the club is too good to have any issues. Both sides are relaxed. The club is having a good season and so am I. I hope we will find a satisfactory solution,” Kross said
This season, the 34-year-old has made 38 appearances for the 14-time Champions League holders, showcasing another brilliant season at Santiago Bernabéu. After playing a key role and enjoying immense success at the club, he has rightfully demonstrated his value, meriting a stay beyond the summer.
