Tottenham Transfer News: Radu Dragusin’s agent provides update on Genoa star’s future following Spurs €23 million offer

Radu Dragusin has been in the news lately, and that’s because he’s drawing concrete interest from Tottenham Hotspur for a permanent transfer. Ange Postecoglou’s men have flattered to deceive so far this season, falling way off in the title race after an initial burst of form that saw them take the top of the table earlier on in the season.

The team obviously needs a commanding center back, and they’ve identified Radu Dragusin as the man to bring some stability to that shaky backline. With the defender’s future pretty much hanging in the balance, his agent has provided an update on his client and his potential move away from Italian side Genoa.

Tottenham offer €23 million to sign Radu Dragusin

Nobody expected Tottenham Hotspur to be among the title contenders in the Premier League this season, and they could be forgiven for that. After all, they had just lost their best player in years, Harry Kane, who completed a move to Bayern Munich in the summer, and an untested coach in the league was being handed a rare chance to take the club back to the top.

After a great start to the season, which saw their new manager get awarded with back-to-back Manager of the Month awards in the Premier League, Tottenham have since fallen off the title race after defeats to Chelsea, Wolves, and Aston Villa in quick succession.

As it turned out, Postecoglou figured out that a commanding defender would be needed if Tottenham were to mount any serious title challenge this season, which is why they’re working so hard to secure the signature of Romanian defender Radu Dragusin on a permanent deal from Geneo for €23 million.

While Genoa are holding out for €30 million for a player they got for less than half of that sum a little over a year ago from Juventus, Tottenham believe a deal can be secured as soon as possible to make Radu Dragusin a Tottenham player this January.

“He does not think about money but about the prospect for growth and the team he can play for,” the Romanian defender’s agent declared.

“We were contacted by Saudi Pro League clubs, but he did not even want to listen to their proposals,” he added.

On local interests from other Italian teams, the agent confessed he had not received proposals from any local teams on his client.

“Personally, I have not been contact by Napoli, Roma or Milan.”

The agent also delivered a blow of a statement, as he insisted Radu Dragusin wouldn’t want to leave Italy just halfway into the season.

“In any case, Radu is not thinking about leaving Genoa mid-season. It would be like leaving some unfinished business for him. I have had contacts with clubs in the Premier League, including Tottenham and others, but at this moment, he does not want to leave.”Tottenham, who have been labeled ‘Bottler FC’ by former Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil, will now turn their attention to an FA Cup tie against fellow Premier League side Burnley on Friday as they look to keep their hopes of securing a trophy this season alive.
