Chelsea have been the busiest team in this transfer window, chopping and changing under new manager Mauricio Pochettino. They spent the first half of this transfer window getting rid of players the manager clearly said had no place at the club.
Chelsea have parted ways with Kovacic, Pulisic, Kante, Aubameyang, Azpilicueta, Mendy, Koulibaly, Loftus-Cheek, and Kai Havertz, among many others. They will now try to strengthen the team to build a squad that can compete for the Premier League title next season with new signings.
Chelsea capture $49 million man Axel Disasi from Monaco
Wesley Fofana suffered a potentially season-ending injury before Chelsea’s USA pre-season tour started last month. The Frenchman had undergone an injury on his anterior cruciate ligament, which a club statement confirmed. This left Chelsea with a man less in defense, prompting the club to move for his compatriot, Axel Disasi, from Monaco in a $49 million deal.
In a social media post, Chelsea confirmed Disasi’s signing earlier today: “Blue is the color, welcome Axel Disasi.” The former Monaco man was tipped to land a move to Manchester United as a replacement for Harry Maguire, who had been told he could leave the old after being stripped of the captaincy. However, the Blues quickly swooped in for a move, and the Frenchman couldn’t resist the opportunity to play in this new Chelsea team under a world-class manager.

Disasi will face competition from Lewis Colwill, who had a bright season at Brighton last season. He will also fight for his place with Trevor Chalobah and Badiashile once the latter returns from his injury lay-off.
London outfit set to announce Robert Sanchez signing from Brighton
Chelsea are left with Kepa as the only recognized senior goalkeeper after selling Edouard Mendy to the Saudi Pro League earlier this transfer window. The Spaniard has gone through his redemption period at Chelsea, fighting back for a spot in last season’s starting line-up under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are closing in on a deal with Brighton to sign Robert Sanchez as the team’s backup goalkeeper ahead of the new season. The Spanish goalkeeper has reportedly undergone his medical tests at Chelsea, leaving the deal to be announced by both Chelsea and Brighton soon. Brighton will receive up to £25 million from Chelsea for the shot-stopper.

Will Chelsea make any more signings before the transfer window closes?
