It is expected that only a fee close to or over €100 million would be enough to let Bayer Leverkusen leave. Real Madrid are said to be ready to spend big for him, and are targeting him in 2025 to replace the outgoing Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Real are said to be leading the race as they are ready to spend more than Manchester City.
Another advantage could be the fact that Real Madrid are also said to be bringing in Xabi Alonso to be their manager in 2025, when current manager Carlo Ancelotti’s contract expires. City are still expected to fight for the player’s signature as they believe he can replace Kevin De Bruyne perfectly and they are not shy about spend big as well.
