Prior to this season, Travis Kelce was only known as the Kansas City Chiefs’ two-time Super Bowl winner tight end, yet this season, he has become a household name to the Americans due to his ongoing dating rumors with Taylor Swift. The tight end perhaps thought his on-field accolades might fall short of convincing the pop star; hence, apart from rushing to have her number, Kelce stunned his fans by listing his name as a minority owner of an F1 team.
The eight-time Pro Bowler is yet to gain acceptance from Taylor Swift, but his F1 investment has already led him to float in the sky, dreaming of a lavish off-field life.
Travis Kelce’s excitement soars as F1 investor
Recently, Travis Kelce and his on-field and off-field pal Patrick Mahomes launched their ownership journey in the F1 world by purchasing a stake in Alpine F1 Team along with Otro Capital Group. The group invested $212 million for a substantial 24 percent share of the team.
The 34-year-old’s excitement knew no bounds when his brother Jason Kelce broached the subject of his lucrative and profitable investment on the New Height podcast. Travis Kelce urged that with the deal, his latent wish to introduce himself as the owner of a sports team came into the daylight. On the podcast, he also revealed that he always cherished the dream of owning the Cleveland Sports team.
“I had so much fu*cing fun that I’ve been itching at the bit to get to another race…I always wanted to get into sports, in terms of ownership, in terms of just having a piece of owning a team. I always had Cleveland Sports team in my mind when I thought about that…Finally an opportunity came up and we knew the right people. I am excited man! It is fun.”
Nevertheless, amid these pleasant situations, the Denver Broncos beat the Chiefs to swallow Kelce’s team for their second upset loss this season. The loss also robbed them of their 16-0 record of dominance over the Broncos.
Esteban Ocon flaunts Travis’ NFL jersey
By dint of the investment, the Mahomes-Kelce duo was able to enlist their name as the co-partners of actor Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, Anthony Joshua, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Juan Mata, and RedBird Capital Partners.
Amid the star-studded investment, Alpine driver Esteban Ocon was caught on camera wearing Travis Kelce’s jersey at the Circuit of the Americas’ paddock. Ocon has been driving for Alpine since the 2021 season, as per Formula 1.
After the recent edition of the investor group, the Alpine driver chose to grab attention, walking down on the F1 Paddock and welcoming Kelce for his ownership journey.
What Travis is going to achieve with this investment is yet to be known, but the F1 team has certainly gained a new set of fans. Do you think this will be a successful venture for Travis? Drop your opinions in the comments section below.
