Manchester City has officially unveiled its Annual Report for the 2022-23 season, affirming a second consecutive year of setting records in revenues and profits. The report highlights broader growth across all facets of the club, a testament to the success achieved during a historic season where City secured a historic Treble.
Manchester City has revealed record-breaking revenues of £712.8 million ($890 million) for the last season, according to figures released on Wednesday.
The club’s annual report for the 2022-23 season also discloses record profits of £80.4 million ($100 million), showcasing a significant increase compared to the previous year’s total of £41.7 million ($52 million).
Supported by the ruling family of Abu Dhabi, Manchester City achieved a historic trophy treble last season, securing victories in the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup.
“In short, last season saw Manchester City achieve the greatest football and commercial year of its storied history,” stated club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak in an official statement. “The season was the validation of a philosophy and sustained approach that has defined the Club since His Highness Sheikh Mansour became its custodian in 2008.” This statement underscores the significant accomplishments and the strategic, long-term vision that has shaped Manchester City under its current ownership.
On the club website, it was stated emphatically that; “Notably during the 2022-23 season, Manchester City was also named the most valuable football club brand in the world, topping the 2023 Brand Finance Football 50 report for the first time ever with a brand value of €1.51 billion.”
Manchester City’s treble-winning season
It was indeed a successful year for Manchester City as they attained a feat that was never reached in club’s history. Not only did that get them a bragging right in the sight of their neighbor, it also brought in a colossal financial gain into the club. Even Pep Guardiola said that it might be difficult to repeat the treble feat, after he City crashed out of the Carabao Cup.
The Chief Executive Officer, Ferran Soriano, speaking on City’s treble win said;
“Winning the Treble, the Champions League (for the first time), the Premier League (the third title in a row) and the FA Cup. Achieving record revenues and record profits. Winning the Ballon d’Or for best Men’s Club of the Year and being named the most valuable football club brand in the world. We can certainly say that the 2022-23 season was the best in the history of Manchester City.
