D-Generation X, DX, is a legendary faction in WWE that was formed by Triple H and Shawn Michaels in the 1990s. The group was known for their rebellious and controversial antics, and had several members over the years, such as Chyna, X-Pac, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn.
Recently, in an interview the Chief content officer of WWE, Triple H picked up three members from the current NXT roster for the D-Generation X. Triple H was the founder of NXT and currently Shawn Michaels is the Senior Vice President of Talent Development in NXT.
Triple H names 3 NXT stars for DX
On the backstage interview with the Subway Mania, Triple H named Trick Williams as the first pick for his DX. Triple H said, “Out of NXT, right now? I think Trick would be certainly one just because he is so fast and quick-witted and, I think he would be a guy that would certainly fit. But as I’m saying that Carmelo too would be a guy, that would definitely fit into that mold.”
There is no surprise that Triple H picked Trick Williams as his first pick as he is a former NXT United Kingdom Champion, and he recently won the 2023 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Along with Trick Williams, Triple H picked Carmelo and Lola Vice to be a part of his DX team.
“And it’s hard, you know. You know, just from a female side, just because I think she’s got the personality and the capabilities, a Lola Vice or somebody like that,” Triple H said. “Just from a female side that I think if, you just let her cut loose, I bet she’s crazy, you know,” he added.
It is unlikely that DX will ever return to WWE with new members, as the original group was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019. If WWE plans to bring back the DX with the NXT superstars, it will be exciting to watch.
Triple H remembers Lemmy
Lemmy Kilmister, an English musician and the founder of the band Motörhead, had a close relationship with Triple H since 2001. Lemmy recorded “The Game”, the iconic entrance theme for Triple H and performed the song live at WrestleMania 17 and 21.
Recently WWE Commentator Corey Graves, who welcomed his first child with the WWE superstar Carmella last month, posted a photo of Lemmy in a backstage interview that took place back in 2015.
Triple H reacted to the photo by adding, “His music defined a genre and, to this day, my career. I miss my friend”. Triple H was a huge fan of Motörhead and often praised Lemmy for his music and his attitude. Motorhead also recorded two other themes for Triple H, the ‘King of Kings’ and ‘Line in the Sand’, the theme song of Evolution.
Triple H spoke at Lemmy’s memorial service on January 9, 2016, and shared some stories and memories of his friendship with the rock icon. Triple H continues to honor Lemmy’s legacy by using his songs as his entrance themes, and by paying tribute to him on social media and interviews.
