Tyron Woodley exposes ex-UFC champ Sean Strickland for rejecting $1 million Jake Paul challenge

Sean Strickland is trending for his boxing showdown with Jake Paul. And now Jake Paul’s former opponent, Tyron Woodley, reveals that Strickland is to reject the offer after calling him out.

Strickland got the offer of a sparring session with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul, and if the former middleweight champion wins it, then he will be getting $1 million. But Woodley is claiming Sean Strickland will reject the challenge.

Tyron Woodley weighs in on Sean Strickland rejecting Jake Paul’s offer

Recently, Sean Strickland went viral for his sparring session with rapper Sneako, where he brutally beaten the rapper till the blood started to drop on the mat. To address their situation, Tyron Woodley made clarifications about why Jake Paul wanted to fight Sean Strickland and what his exact intentions were. While talking on the Real Shhh Right Quick episode, Woodley talks about how his ex-promotion company’s fighter is lying and giving excuses to duck the sparring session with Paul.

Woodley said, “You don’t have to ask anybody if you can fight. Legally, they cannot stop him from sparring Jake Paul. Jake Paul said he wanted to spar him the same way Sneako walked into the cage. I want you to know he had to walk through security; he had to be signed in on the list. I know that; that’s the apex of the UFC thing.”

The former UFC welterweight champion clarified Jake Paul’s intention while calling out Strickland. “Jake Paul didn’t say, Come and meet me in a f**king arena or come and meet me in a sanctioned fight. He said, Come to my gym. Nobody can stop him from doing that.”

Sean Strickland recently rejected the offer of fighting Jake Paul, giving the explanation that the UFC will not allow him to fight anyone other than the promotion’s roster fighter.

Why did Sean Strickland refuse to fight Jake Paul?

According to Sean Strickland, UFC’s Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell had a talk with him regarding this potential showdown. Strickland asked for permission from Campell. “I will fight this man [Jake Paul]. You let Conor McGregor fight Mayweather. This is an easier fight and easier money. Can I do that?”

But as per Sean Strickland, the answer was “no” from the UFC official with a proper explanation of not getting $1 million that easily for the fight. Strickland said, “Then Hunter explained to me… that he [Paul] sells no fights. When they have fights, they give away tickets; he doesn’t make money; his target audience is children;  and they don’t buy pay-per-views.”

From the influencer’s list of boxers who turned boxers, Jake Paul tops the list, having the highest pay-per-view income. While others are still finding the way to reach the milestone of becoming one of the big names in boxing, Paul has already started to triumph to capture the boxing gold.

What are your thoughts on Tyron Woodley’s clarification that Jake Paul had a sparring session with Sean Strickland, not a fight?
