Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be enjoying his time in Saudi Arabia, at least in terms of monetary gains, considering how much he’s earning at Al-Nassr. While Ronaldo is considered to be coping well with Saudi, the same can’t be said about Sadio Mane, who has endured a torrid time at Bayern Munich since moving to the German club last summer.
Sadio Mane could argue he hasn’t had this much difficulty settling anywhere else in his career so far. In his early days, he set the Premier League ablaze, first with Southampton and then with Liverpool. The Premier League record holder for the quickest hattrick in the league’s history is finding his time at Bayern Munich hellish at the moment and could be on the move.
With Al-Nassr lurking in the shadows, Sadio Mane may join the growing list of players who have moved to the Middle East in search of greener pastures.
Al-Nassr strikes a deal with Sadio Mane
Bayern Munich signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool last summer and quickly tied the Senegalese to a 3-year deal until June 2025 as they believed to have gotten their hands on one of Europe’s most talented attackers. However, the move hasn’t worked out for both parties, and Sadio Mane has found himself involved in more on-pitch bust-ups with teammates than on the scoresheet.
The winger was fined for punching Leroy Sane after a Champions League game last season. Bayern Munich are reportedly losing their patience with the Champions League winner, and Al-Nassr have reportedly stepped in to save the day. Sadio Mane may be joining Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after Le Equipe reported yesterday that the Saudi club had reached an agreement with the Senegalese winger to bring him to the Middle East.
Sadio Mane will be joining a team with a strong setup that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo Brozovic, and Seko Fofana. If he moves to Saudi, he will be away from all the spotlight of European football and should finally be able to play his game with less pressure and attention.
Ronaldo accredited Saudi supremacy to himself following the Gulf move
Cristiano Ronaldo has credited himself for the attention that the Saudi Pro League currently enjoys. Ever since his move to the Gulf League in January 2023, the Saudi league has enjoyed a massive global boost, with several high-profile players following the former Manchester United player to the league. Fellow Ballon d’Or winner and former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema left Real Madrid for Al-Ittihad earlier this summer.
