Latest reports have revealed that former Miami Heat star Udonis Haslem’s sister, Sheana Haslem, has been accused of committing fraud. These allegations have caused an uproar after being revealed just months after Udonis also got into trouble.
Haslem himself found himself in trouble a few months back when he was named in the FTX lawsuit. Despite recently expressing his dislike for former rivals Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett on his podcast, Udonis has remained silent on the matter.
Sheana Haslem accused of pandemic relief fraud
Sheana Haslem was recently accused of committing fraudulent activity. The news has stunned a lot of people in the community as this news broke just after Udonis was named as a defendant in the FTX lawsuit.
Sheana works as a staffing specialist in the Miami Police Department and has been accused of filing loans from the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) and the EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Loan).
These loans were introduced by the government to provide relief to small businesses during the Pandemic. Shaena had reportedly filed for the loans in 2020 and 2021 under the names of her Hair and Nail salon.
It has been reported that she has received around $31,000 from the relief programs and has been charged with wire fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. Haslem has come into the spotlight for the first time. She is one of Udonis’ five siblings, and not much is known about her as the Miami star hasn’t talked about her a lot.
Udonis Haslem once sued for FTX lawsuit
Shaena Haslem’s brother and former Miami Heat captain, Udonis Haslem, was once sued in an FTX lawsuit. When cryptocurrency was all the hype and everyone was investing in it, FTX was one of the most popular platforms. They had many celebrities endorsing the crypto trading platform. However, things did not turn out very well for the people who invested using FTX as their preferred trading platform.
Later on, it was revealed that FTX was a shady company with no clean background. It went bankrupt and several cases were filed against it. Lawsuits were also issued against the celebrities who endorsed the platform and Udonis was one of them. Several other celebrities who were named in the case were NBA Icon Shaquille O’Neal, Warriors ace Stephen Curry, and other popular athletes from other sports.
