UFC icon Chael Sonnen delivers brutal one-word message to Sean Strickland’s closest friend

Chael Sonnen, having fought in both the UFC and Bellator, is not just a former fighter but also an analyst. He has worked with the PFL, Bellator, and the UFC. Sonnen has a YouTube channel where he delves into topics related to MMA. Additionally, he is very active on social media, and his outspoken remarks have often sparked controversy.

However, Sonnen appears to be in a feud with noted MMA journalist and former Playboy model Nina Marie Daniel, who is a close friend of Sean Strickland. She was with Strickland throughout the fight week of UFC 297, where he lost the title to Dricus Du Plessis.

Chael Sonnen slams Nina Marie Daniele

Chael Sonnen does not seem to appreciate the unconventional journalistic practices of Nina Marie Daniele, who made a name for herself following an interview with Sean Strickland, the former UFC middleweight champion. Sonnen had been depreciative of Daniele for some time now.

Daniele recently posted a video tweet on her official X account with the caption, “Yes or no to this dress?” The video showed Daniele in a silver-colored minidress. It already got 1.6 million views as of now. Sonnen reposted the tweet with the caption, “No.”

UFC featherweight Billy Quarantillo found a humorous way to troll Sonnen by commenting, “Can’t let you get close!!” – an iconic line from Sonnen’s time on the Ultimate Fighter series – on Sonnen’s tweet. However, Sonnen’s animosity towards Daniele was evident from his repost.

Since she started her career as an MMA journalist, she has achieved success and even gained notoriety. Her interview with Tom Aspinall before UFC 295 spread like wildfire on social media. Daniele was even in UAE to be at UFC 294, headlined by Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski. She was also cageside at UFC 293, as she cheered for Sean Strickland.

Chael Sonnen claims to be Nina Marie Daniele’s hater

The recent reposting of Nina Marie Daniele’s tweet was not the first time that Chael Sonnen did something like that. He had done it in October of 2023, a month after Sean Strickland’s victory against Israel Adesanya to become the undisputed UFC middleweight champion.

“I’ve never met a hater in real life. Everyone I’ve ever met has always been lovely. Where are all my haters at? Pull up,” Daniele tweeted in October of 2023, which got 1.4 million views on social media platform X. Sonnen reposted the tweet with the caption, “Checking in,” and thereby confirmed that he is a hater of Daniele. It needs to be noted that Sonnen’s retweet now has 1.2 million views.

Sonnen’s animosity towards Daniele may be due to her position as a direct competitor to himself and other journalists. Before Daniele, MMA journalist Helen Yee had a string of interviews with Sean Strickland which the fans found very interesting.
