The once-in-a-lifetime bout at AEW Dynasty between Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay proved to be more heated and technically impressive than anybody could have imagined. No matter how exciting the bout was, it ended on a downbeat note when Danielson left with a scary injury scare.
Wrestling fans’ hearts skipped a beat as the bout reached its climax, with the two contestants positioned like ready-made jousting knights. But the dream turned into worry when Ospreay’s elbow strike and Tiger Diver move hurt Danielson’s shoulder and neck, making him look like he was in severe pain.
AEW’s official Twitter video showed Ospreay’s real worry as he helped Danielson get medical help backstage with the help of ringside doctor Michael Sampson. Ospreay has shown commendable sportsmanship despite winning the match with his worry about Danielson but didn’t realize he was injured until the last move.
Given Danielson’s history with neck issues, concerned fans were relaxed when Fightful Select reportedly explained that the dramatic finish was staged. However, despite the setback, the 30-minute match was packed with intensity, leading a wrestling observer to declare it the greatest match of the United States.
