Isaiah Collier of the USC Trojans showed why timing is important as he picked his moment for the next step in his career. With March madness over, this was the moment for Collier for the big announcement.
After Bronny James declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, his teammate, Isaiah made sure he tags along on the night of 26th June at Barclays Center. But he will not be only accompanying the James family to show support for Bronny, he will have reasons of his own.
Isaiah Collier to enter 2024 NBA draft
On Wednesday, Isaiah Collier announced his entry for the 2024 NBA Draft. The USC Trojans point guard will join the likes of Nikola Topic, Alex Sarr, Ron Holland and more.
The 2024 Draft class so far seems one of the most underwhelming classes in recent years. While all eyes will be on LeBron James’ son, Bronny, Isaiah will not be far from attention.
The 6’5″ guard was the number one prospect coming out of high school and after spending only a year with his college team, he is setting his sights on the big leagues.
But should he be one of the top picks in the upcoming NBA Draft? This question can be answered by closely scrutinizing his freshman-year performance.
Isaiah Collier NCAA stats
After getting into the USC Trojans as a five-star recruit from Wheeler High School in 2023, the Marietta, Georgia-born guard left a strong impression in his debut college basketball season.
While the Trojans performed far below expectations this season, Collier lived up to the hype. Collier averaged 16.3 points per game in the 27 games he played and recorded 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists as well.
To put it into perspective, his stats are far superior to those of Bronny James, who mirrors Jimmy Butler in that regard. Collier’s season-high 31 points against the Washington Huskies in an 82-75 win last month was the highlight of his impressive season.
Apart from this, Collier has also recorded 6 20+ point games this season, earning him a spot in the PAC-12 All-Freshman Team. His offensive and defensive abilities have equally grabbed the attention of college basketball followers, making him a utility player for any team he plays for.
With the NBA Draft just a few months away, more and more prospects are announcing their inclusion in the event, but Isaiah Collier’s numbers can keep him high on the priority list of multiple franchises.
