Robert Lewandowski is enduring a torrid campaign in his second season at Barcelona. The Polish striker joined the Catalan club in the summer of 2022 and quickly showed the world why he was regarded as the best striker in the game at the time. However, the goals have since dried up following a trophy-winning season under Xavi last season.
Despite the ongoing on-field inconsistencies at club level, Robert Lewandowski made sure he enjoyed the festivities with his wife Anna. In a viral video of the couple on social media, the former Bayern Munich striker showed off some of his dancing skills with his partner.
Lewandowski dances into new year
Robert Lewandowski is having second-season syndrome at Barcelona, where he’s performed below his usual standards this season, leading to heavy criticisms from fans. The former Bayern Munich striker hasn’t scored as many goals as he would have wanted, which has affected his team’s performances altogether this season.
However, he didn’t let this affect his mood and transition into the new year as he took his time to share a memorable and viral moment with his wife. In a viral video making rounds on social media, Robert Lewandowski showed off his dancing skills alongside his wife, Anna, in a 360-degree camera dance party.
Robert Lewandowski and his wife were surrounded by family and friends as they danced to a great tune while enjoying the New Year’s celebrations with their loved ones.
The dance video didn’t sit well with some fans online, who quickly bashed the Barcelona forward with diss texts.
“These memes will be hilarious when he eventually drops another disaster-class performance,” one Twitter user said.
“Send him to Saudi already,” another fan said.
Barcelona are currently 4th in La Liga, seven points behind league leaders Real Madrid. While it’s still too early to predict, the Catalan giants now look way off defending their La Liga title this season.
Lewandowski’s wife’s love for MMA
The Lewandowski family is a household of athletes, as his wife is a karate medalist on several levels, including European, World, and National Championships with Poland.
The 34-year-old is a big fan of martial arts and was recently advised by the KSW President, the leader of the Polish fighting league, to consider pursuing a career in the sport.
“I had a coffee with Slawomir Peszko, and he told me to try something new,” Anna Lewandowska said. “I told him I wanted to discuss it with my husband first. I left the meeting, and after an hour, this information appeared in the media,” she continued.
“My husband found out from the press and asked me, ‘Anna, what are you doing? What are these things?’
“I told Robert that if I weren’t his wife, I would probably participate in such an event,” she concluded.
Robert Lewandowski, whose agent clarified his future plans recently, will be hoping 2024 will kickstart a different form for him as Barcelona travel to Las Palmas on Thursday for a La Liga game.
