The Minnesota Vikings showcased a phenomenal bounce-back performance by picking up back-to-back wins. Though the team stumbled in the recent match after embracing a 21-20 loss against the Denver Broncos, its winning streak following the loss against the Kansas City Chiefs was pretty laudable.
When Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins went down for the whole season with a potential season-ending injury, they had nothing but to rely on the newly acquired signal-caller Joshua Dobbs for the role. However, absurd as it sounds, a recent update says the team was eyeing signing NFL GOAT Tom Brady before Dobbs’ trade.
Vikings made inquiry to Tom Brady
Following Cousins’ injury in Week 8, the Vikings took advantage of the Oct. 31 trade deadline to trade for Dobbs who had a lackluster season with the Arizona Cardinals when he filled the void of Kyler Murray. The veteran went 167-of-266 passing for 1,569 yards along with eight touchdowns and five interceptions with the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, Vikings fans urged Tom Brady to take the helm of their beloved team by taking a U-turn to the league. Scott Zolak, former Patriots quarterback and present NBC Sports Boston analyst, threw a bomb, saying the team itself too reached the California Cool to ask him to return to the gridiron, per SI.com.
Zolak also noted TB12 showcased no interest in once again donning the jersey of any NFL team. The analyst revealed the whole thing when he and his co-host Marc Bertrand were discussing the Cincinnati Bengals fan’s appeal to Tom Terrific to consider second time unretirement.
The Cincy fanbase was urging the ex-NFL star to lead their team following the season-ending wrist injury of their signal-caller, Joe Burrow, who shortly gave the team an incredible winning streak.
However, though Brady sometimes jokingly sparks the unretirement rumor, he is very unlikely to do so. The seven-time Super Bowl champion has earned enough titles and accolades during his prolonged 23-season career. Now, he is busy spending time with his family, doing podcasting, and making back-to-back investments in sports teams.
Dobbs makes NFL history with TD in each of his first three games
After recording eight touchdowns and five interceptions, Joshua Dobbs landed in Minnesota with a poor 1-7 record with his former team. However, his journey with the Vikings turned out to be more satisfactory than ever.
Except for the recent one-point loss against the Broncos, the signal-caller won every match with the franchise. Besides that, he made another eye-catching record by becoming the first NFL player to throw a touchdown and also run for a touchdown in each of their first three matches.
In the Week 11 contest, the veteran recorded a passing touchdown in the second quarter and had a rushing touchdown in the third quarter, marking the third consecutive week the QB had at least one of both. He now possesses the record of having four passing touchdowns and three rushing scores in his first three games with the team.
The Vikings are going to face off against the Chicago Bears in their upcoming game. Joshua Dobbs will have chance to solidify his record by showcasing the same-level elite performance on the field.
