Vince McMahon, the founder and former CEO of WWE, is facing a lawsuit from a former employee, Janel Grant, who accuses him of sexual assault, trafficking, and abuse. The news went viral yesterday after Grant released an official lawsuit against Vince McMahon and former WWE Superstar John Laurinaitis.
Along with Vince and Laurinaitis, the lawsuit also mentions another person involved in the scandal. The name of the person was not directly revealed, and with the information in the report, it is now confirmed that the person is none other than Brock Lesnar.
Why is Brock Lesnar being involved in Vince McMahon’s scandal?
Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, was employed by Vince McMahon in 2019 as an administrator-coordinator within WWE’s legal division. On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Grant filed a lawsuit at the Connecticut district court, claiming that Vince McMahon coerced her into a sexual relationship in exchange for a job and promotions in WWE.
The lawsuit also alleges that Vince trafficked her to other men in WWE, including John Laurinaitis. As per the lawsuit there was one more professional wrestler was also involved in the scandal along with Vince and Laurinaitis. The third man was mentioned as the former UFC fighter and a WWE Superstar.
After the release of this lawsuit, the Wall Street Journal reports that the third unknown star is the former WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. As per the suit, Vince forced Grant to send ‘personalized sexual content,’ personally to Brock Lesnar. She also claimed that Vince gave her number to Lesnar in December 2021 and Lesnar asked Grant for her sexual video. Lesnar also abused her with some dirty words after she sent the video.
In the same month, Lesnar allegedly contacted Grant and expressed his interest in meeting her, but due to a snowstorm, the plan was canceled. Grant confirmed that Vince instructed her to send videos to Lesnar as part of efforts to re-sign him to a new contract in WWE.
After Lesnar signed a new contract in WWE, Vince made a call to Grant and said, ” he likes what he sees ” and ” that part of the deal was f**ing you.” Grant claims that McMahon pressured her to sign a non-disclosure agreement and paid her $3 million to keep quiet, but she only received $1 million.
WWE reportedly backtracks on Brock Lesnar’s Royal Rumble status
Brock Lesnar, the former WWE Champion, has been absent from the WWE since his loss to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. Lesnar went against Rhodes after his loss against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38. Lesnar was rumored to return to WWE in the 30 men Royal Rumble match this saturday, but after the recent lawsuit for a sexual assault against Grant, his return plan for the Rumble match appeared to be changed.
Lesnar was rumored to face the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion, Gunther at the WrestleMania 40. The match was heavily expected by the WWE fans after their rivalry in last year’s Rumble match. On the last episode of Monday Night RAW, Gunther made his appearance and issued a challenge to the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.
This confirms that the lawsuit forced WWE to change the plans that had been almost confirmed a year ago. Lesnar has not addressed the allegations, but this has cast a significant shadow over his illustrious wrestling career.
