Barcelona had no chance to win the game, with Real Madrid dominating from the start. Vinicius Jr. scored 2 quick goals within the opening 10 minutes. After Robert Lewandowski pulled one back for the Catalans, Vinicius scored a penalty goal. It completed his hat trick within the first half itself. The game eventually ended 4-1, with another goal by Rodrygo in the second half. It was a humiliating game for the Blaugrana, who could consider sacking manager Xavi Hernandez.
Perhaps it was fate that the game took place at the Al Awwal Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia which happens to be the home ground of Al Nassr, the club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays now. The Portuguese legend is remembered as an icon of Real Madrid, and Barcelona have seen his iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration against them multiple times.

Vinicius Jr. knew what he was doing when he scored the first goal, as he brought out the same ‘Siuuu’ celebration in front of the Saudi fans that are accustomed to seeing it almost every match of their club. After the game, Vinicius clarified why he did it, and said that Ronaldo was his idol, “The celebration was dedicated to Cristiano Ronaldo, because he is my idol and now he plays here.”
It is not the first time, as Vinicius also did the same celebration in a 2-0 win back in 2020, when Ronaldo himself was watching the game from the sidelines at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have had an almost perfect season so far, with good success both in La Liga and the Champions League so far. With such a stacked squad full of young superstars, there is the possibility of further strength if Kylian Mbappe arrives in the next summer.
The French striker is expected to leave Paris Saint Germain next summer on a free transfer, and Real Madrid could be his next destination. However, there are still a lot of question marks, and Vinicius Jr. was also asked about the possibility of having another world class player as his teammate.

Vinicius Jr. and Real Madrid are certainly happy to win the trophy, but they will be looking to win their next game, which is a crucial Round of 16 fixture in the Copa Del Rey against derby rivals Atletico Madrid.
