Wade Barrett reveals “broke and job-scared” situation with former faction partner Bray Wyatt in poignant tribute

Former WWE world champion Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 24, at the age of 36, as the WWE legend Triple H explained this week through a tweet. As per reports, Wyatt had been dealing with many health issues but he was planning for a comeback to pro wrestling. However, he died of a reported heart attack on Thursday.

Wade Barrett joins in the mourning following Bray Wyatt’s demise

WWE star and former NEXUS member Wade Barrett took to Twitter to react to Bray Wyatt’s tragic death. The news of death was confirmed by Triple H, who announced on Twitter that Wyatt passed away at the age of 36. Reactions from the entire professional wrestling industry have been pouring in since.

Taking to Twitter, Barrett also sent a heartfelt message in honor of his former colleague and friend. Both superstars shared a good bond in their NEXUS days and they even recalled their good times a couple of years back when Wade joined WWE NXT as a commentator. He referred to Bray Wyatt by his old ring name Husky Harris in the Tweet.

“It’s been a dark 24 hours, but I’ve had some laughs sharing old stories with friends. Windham’s presence could always make the worst situations fun again. Broke and job-scared in FCW? Exhausted at 4 a.m. in the airport? 300-mile drive in pain after a show? Windham would be the guy who got you rolling again. I’m thankful I got to spend so much time training, working, partying, and traveling with him over the years. He was selfless, humble, genuine, and had a wild ability to turn the mundane into an adventure. I’ll never meet anyone like him again. A rare gem. We will all miss you, Husky. See you when I see you,” wrote Barrett.

Bray Wyatt FKA Husky Harris featured in Barrett-led “Nexus”

Before he became Bray Wyatt, Windham Rotunda debuted the character ‘Husky Harris’ in WWE NXT. During his run as Husky Harris, he joined one of the popular WWE factions from that time. The faction was Nexus. At Hell in a Cell in 2010, Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty interfered in a very intense match between Wade Barrett and John Cena, helping Barrett win.

Unfortunately, Barrett did not give Harris a chance to become a full-time member of The Nexus since he hadn’t asked for his help. However, Harris refused to go down with that excuse and cost John Cena another match against The Miz on the following episode of WWE RAW. This helped him earn a chance to become a member of The Nexus along with Michael. They had to beat John Cena and Randy Orton to become members of The Nexus. Though they lost but still were inducted anyway the following week. Husky Harris was written off WWE TV to mark his exit from The Nexus on the January 31, 2011, episode of WWE RAW.

It is without doubt that Bray Wyatt will go down as not only one of the finest wrestlers in WWE history but in the entire existence of the pro wrestling business. Then, the one-time WWE champion and two-time universal champion left an indelible mark on the industry and clearly meant so much to this business.
